Our History

2005

Compel Them to Come is Founded

Angela and her husband, Pastor Wayne, founded Compel Them to Come as a community agency. Angela was named Executive Director in 2005. That year, Youth Voices was launched, an eight-lesson program designed to address youth risk behaviors. This initiative marked the beginning of numerous programs supporting families and fostering healthy relationships.

2015

CTTC Expands to Serve Youth and Adults

Through perspective-challenging discussions and thought-provoking social learning activities, Compel Them to Come expanded its services to include multiple Milwaukee agencies, such as the Department of Juvenile Justice. That year also marked the 10th anniversary, celebrated with the Compelled to Give event, which honored a decade of impactful work and community partnerships.

2020

Navigating the COVID-19 Pandemic

The global health crisis drastically changed the landscape for many organizations, including CTTC. Known for work with incarcerated individuals, CTTC faced significant challenges when both correctional and school facilities imposed strict lockdowns, limiting external access. Educators and counselors adapted quickly - reimagining roles to continue supporting the community amidst these unprecedented restrictions.

2024

CTTC Adult Day Activity Center Launches

In the wake of the pandemic, through demonstrated resilience and adaptability Compel Them to Come Adult Day Activity Center emerged. This new initiative supports active seniors and families, offering programs such as creative arts, educational workshops, and wellness initiatives.

CTTC has forged new partnerships to broaden its reach, pooling resources and expertise to provide holistic support. The Adult Day Activity Center embodies CTTC’s unwavering commitment to its mission, offering a vibrant and enriching environment for the community.
